Woodcreek is located in western Hays County at 30°1?39?N 98°6?48?W? / ?30.02750°N 98.11333°W? / 30.02750; -98.11333 (30.027623, -98.113382). It is 2 miles (3 km) north of Wimberley, 34 miles (55 km) southwest of Austin and 60 miles (97 km) northeast of San Antonio.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 1.1 square miles (2.8 km2), all of it land. Cypress Creek, a tributary of the Blanco River, forms the western boundary of the city.

As of the census of 2000, there were 1,274 people, 588 households, and 415 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,204.7 people per square mile (464.1/km²). There were 638 housing units at an average density of 603.3/sq mi (232.4/km²). The racial makeup of the city was 97.65% White, 0.16% African American, 0.24% Native American, 0.24% Asian, 0.47% from other races, and 1.26% from two or more races.
