Process Overview

There are four primary phases in the lab processing of a drug testing result: Accessioning, Screening, Extraction, and Confirmation.

Accessioning involves the first stage of entering a sample into the lab system. This phase checks whether the sample was correctly sealed and sent, gives it a random LAN (Laboratory Accessioning Number), and finishes any extra data entry lacking in an electronic chain of custody procedure.
