Byron is a village in Thayer County, Nebraska, United States. The population was 83 at the 2010 census.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 0.15 square miles (0.39 km2), all of it land.

Byron was originally called Harbine, and under the latter name was platted in 1877 when it was certain that the railroad would be extended to that point. When it was discovered in 1889 another post office named Harbine already existed in the state, the town was renamed Byron in order to avoid repetition.

As of the census of 2010, there were 83 people, 48 households, and 25 families residing in the village. The population density was 553.3 inhabitants per square mile (213.6/km2). There were 63 housing units at an average density of 420.0 per square mile (162.2/km2). The racial makeup of the village was 100.0% White.
