Fairmount is a census-designated place (CDP) in Hamilton County, Tennessee, United States. The population was 2,825 at the 2010 census. It is part of the Chattanooga, TN–GA Metropolitan Statistical Area.

At the 2000 census, there were 2,600 people, 900 households and 758 families residing in the CDP. The population density was 440.4 per square mile (170.1/km²). There were 952 housing units at an average density of 161.3/sq mi (62.3/km²). The racial makeup of the CDP was 98.77% White, 0.27% African American, 0.08% Native American, 0.46% Asian, 0.08% from other races, and 0.35% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.42% of the population.

There were 900 households of which 43.4% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 75.9% were married couples living together, 6.2% had a female householder with no husband present, and 15.7% were non-families. 13.1% of all households were made up of individuals and 4.8% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.89 and the average family size was 3.18.
