Irwin is located in southern Kankakee County at 41°3?10?N 87°59?8?W? / ?41.05278°N 87.98556°W? / 41.05278; -87.98556 (41.052757, -87.985479). It is 10 miles (16 km) southwest of Kankakee, the county seat.

As of the census of 2000, there were 92 people, 34 households, and 22 families residing in the village. The population density was 1,355.1 people per square mile (507.4/km²).
