Wooster is a city in the U.S. state of Ohio and the county seat of Wayne County. The municipality is located in northeastern Ohio approximately 50 mi (80 km) SSW of Cleveland, 35 mi (56 km) SW of Akron and 30 mi (48 km) W of Canton. The population was 24,811 at the 2000 census and 26,119 at the 2010 Census. The city is the largest in Wayne County, and the center of the Wooster Micropolitan Statistical Area (as defined by the United States Census Bureau). Wooster has the main branch and administrative offices of the Wayne County Public Library.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the city has a total area of 16.36 square miles (42.37 km2), of which, 16.31 square miles (42.24 km2) is land and 0.05 square miles (0.13 km2) is water.

As of the census of 2010, there were 26,119 people, 10,733 households, and 6,244 families residing in the city. The population density was 1,601.4 inhabitants per square mile (618.3/km2). There were 11,822 housing units at an average density of 724.8 per square mile (279.8/km2).
