How It Works

Legal DNA test – when needing a DNA test for paternity, child custody or any court ordered purpose a legal DNA test must be performed at a testing center, the child/children and the alleged father will be scheduled to go to one of our many testing centers nationwide with appropriate documentation, identification, and the test will be performed by a qualified DNA test collector who will then send the specimen to a certified AABB laboratory. Results will be available in approximately 10 days after the laboratory receives the specimen.

Non-legal DNA test -this test is performed for informational purposes only, a DNA certified test kit will be sent to the purchaser via regular mail or overnight delivery. The kit will include clear instructions of how to perform the DNA test, the purchaser will utilize an oral fluid swab for the child/children and alleged father. upon completion the specimen will be placed in a prepaid delivery envelope and sent to our AABB certified laboratory. Results will be available in approximately 10 days after the specimens are received at the laboratory. Please remember the non-legal DNA test cannot be used in a court of law or for any legal purpose.

Common Reasons for DNA Testing in Galesburg

Establishing parentage for custody/support.
Through genetic testing, parentage for both custody and support issues can be accurately determined, providing court-admissible, precise evidence of familial ties. This documentation aids judges in making fair decisions regarding parent responsibilities and financial obligations.

Confirming familial relationships.
Genetic testing confirms family bonds securely, clarifying doubts about siblings, grandparents, and other relations. The reliable data not only settles inheritance conflicts but also assists families in solidifying genuine connections by verifying biological links.

Immigration cases requiring proof of biological relationships.
DNA testing plays a crucial role in providing irrefutable biological proof required for visas and citizenship within immigration contexts. By using legal genetic tests, families are reunited more swiftly, fostering fewer administrative barriers with recognized documentation by immigration offices.

Adoption cases or identifying unknown biological relatives.
DNA testing is instrumental in adoption scenarios, paving the way for adoptees to trace unknown biological relatives. This process offers significant insight into one’s genetic background, facilitating emotional closure, reclaiming familial health history, and establishing personal identity confidence.

Genealogy and ancestry exploration.
Genealogy-focused DNA examinations dive into ancestral lineage, uncovering ethnic backgrounds and uncovering distant relations. By enhancing understanding of familial roots, these insights provide historical migration patterns and offer a deeper cultural identity.
