How It Works

Legal DNA test – when needing a DNA test for paternity, child custody or any court ordered purpose a legal DNA test must be performed at a testing center, the child/children and the alleged father will be scheduled to go to one of our many testing centers nationwide with appropriate documentation, identification, and the test will be performed by a qualified DNA test collector who will then send the specimen to a certified AABB laboratory. Results will be available in approximately 10 days after the laboratory receives the specimen.

Non-legal DNA test -this test is performed for informational purposes only, a DNA certified test kit will be sent to the purchaser via regular mail or overnight delivery. The kit will include clear instructions of how to perform the DNA test, the purchaser will utilize an oral fluid swab for the child/children and alleged father. upon completion the specimen will be placed in a prepaid delivery envelope and sent to our AABB certified laboratory. Results will be available in approximately 10 days after the specimens are received at the laboratory. Please remember the non-legal DNA test cannot be used in a court of law or for any legal purpose.

Common Reasons for DNA Testing in Metropolitan Government

Establishing parentage for custody/support.
DNA testing provides an irrefutable testament to parentage in matters of custody/support, furnishing court-admissible DNA analyses that validate biological parent-child relationships, enabling judges to make fair, informed decisions on parental duties and financial obligations.

Confirming familial relationships.
With precision, DNA testing asserts familial ties among siblings, grandparents, or other family members. Reliable genetic markers deliver assurance, helping to resolve inheritance issues and cement family connections through verified biological evidence.

Immigration cases requiring proof of biological relationships.
For immigration proceedings, our DNA tests authenticate biological connections necessary for visas or citizenship applications. Legal DNA proof streamlines reunions and mitigates administrative holdups by fulfilling requirements of immigration authorities.

Adoption cases or identifying unknown biological relatives.
In adoption scenarios, DNA tests unveil unknown biological kin, illuminating genetic backgrounds for adoptees. This facilitates emotional closure and provides crucial family medical history, enriching personal narratives and identity awareness.

Genealogy and ancestry exploration.
DNA testing for genealogy reveals ancestral lineages, ethnic origins, and links with distant relatives. This genetic exploration amplifies knowledge of familial lineage, nurturing cultural ties and enriching historical understanding of one's heritage.
