What is checked in a DOT Physical?
- Health history review and medication assessment

- Substance Abuse: Illegal drug use, alcohol addiction, or misuse of prescriptions impairing driving.
- Psychiatric & Cognitive: Severe mental illnesses like unmanaged schizophrenia or bipolar, or cognitive decline affecting judgment and responses.
Issues may temporarily disqualify you until providing clearance (e.g., managed blood pressure). Others, like untreated seizures or defibrillators, are often permanently disqualifying under FMCSA standards.

Saved My CDL!

Polite
I ran into a situation because the Guthrie had closed and I had to go to well care and they were right on it. I had no problems when I called to get connected with welcare everything worked out and I didn't even have to wait.they were polite and talked with the receptionist for me once I got them on the phone.
