To verify any positive Screening outcome, Confirmation is carried out using GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, or LC/MS/MS. All samples with a presumptive positive designation are cleansed before Confirmation, should this be necessary. The complete lab protocol from Accessioning through Confirmation undergoes review under both the CAP (College of American Pathologists) Hair classification and accreditation pursuant to ISO / IEC 17025 standards.
