Hair analysis has gained recognition as an effective means for the identification of drug and alcohol consumption. Confirmation of any positive screening is executed using GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, or LC/MS/MS. All presumptive positive samples are cleansed before confirmation as necessary. The entire lab process from Accessioning to Confirmation undergoes review under both the CAP (College of American Pathologists) Hair classification and the accreditation to ISO / IEC 17025 standards.
