What is the Georgia Certified Drug Testing Collector Training?

It is a Georgia-focused training and certification program that teaches how to collect urine specimens for drug testing, complete chain-of-custody paperwork, and follow proper procedures required for Georgia workplaces, DOT-regulated positions, post-accident events, and reasonable suspicion investigations.

Who in Georgia should take this training?

New and experienced Georgia drug test collectors, on-site/mobile collection techs, HR and safety managers, and Georgia program administrators who oversee workplace or DOT testing will benefit from this course.

Does the training cover Georgia post-accident and reasonable suspicion testing?

Yes. The course teaches how to respond to urgent post-accident and reasonable suspicion collections in Georgia, document the event, maintain professionalism, and still follow proper procedure so that the employer can defend the result.

Will I learn how to complete the Custody and Control Form (CCF) correctly?

Yes. The Georgia training shows how to complete the custody and control form, seal the specimen, and maintain a clear chain of custody. This is critical if results are ever challenged by an employee, regulator, or legal representative in Georgia.

Is there a mock collection / hands-on component for Georgia trainees?

Yes. Georgia trainees complete mock or observed collections to demonstrate that they can follow every step without making fatal errors. This helps prove proficiency to Georgia employers and compliance personnel.

Will I get proof of completion or certification I can use in Georgia?

Yes. After successfully completing the training and required mock demonstrations, you receive documentation of completion/certification. Georgia employers and clients can rely on this to confirm that you have been trained in proper drug test collection procedures.

Does this help Georgia employers stay compliant?

Yes. Georgia businesses rely on trained collectors to protect the integrity of their drug-free workplace programs and, for DOT-regulated operations, to maintain compliance with safety-sensitive testing requirements. Proper procedure helps prevent disputes and protects the validity of test results.

Can Georgia on-site or mobile collectors use this training in the field?

Absolutely. The training is designed for Georgia on-site/mobile testing scenarios — including jobsite collections, facility testing, and post-accident collections — where collectors need to act quickly and still follow documented procedure.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Certified Drug Testing Collector Training?

Certified Drug Testing Collector Training is a structured program that teaches how to properly collect urine specimens for drug testing, document chain of custody, complete custody and control forms, and follow federal and industry procedures. It prepares you to act as a professional collector for employment, compliance, and post-accident testing situations.

Who should take this collector training?

This training is intended for new and current specimen collectors, on-site/mobile testing technicians, HR and safety/compliance staff who manage workplace testing programs, and those supporting DOT and other regulated testing environments. It is also valuable for third-party program administrators who coordinate testing for multiple employers.

What does the training cover?

Topics include collection site preparation, donor check-in and ID verification, proper urine specimen collection, sealing and packaging, completing the custody and control form, maintaining chain of custody, following regulatory procedures, handling problem or refusal situations, and performing mock collections to demonstrate competency.

Why is chain of custody so important?

Accurate chain of custody protects the integrity of the specimen and makes the result defensible. If the paperwork or handling is done incorrectly, the result can be challenged or thrown out. Proper training ensures the collector documents every handoff of the specimen and follows approved procedures from start to finish.

Will I learn how to handle post-accident and reasonable suspicion collections?

Yes. Collectors are trained on urgent or high-pressure collections such as post-accident and reasonable suspicion situations. This includes how to respond quickly, maintain professionalism, and still follow required procedures so the employer can document compliance.

Is there a hands-on or practical component?

Yes. The training includes mock collections or observed practice, which helps confirm that the trainee can perform the collection procedure correctly, seal and document the specimen, and complete all required paperwork without fatal errors.

Does this training help with DOT and workplace compliance?

Yes. Collectors are instructed in procedures that align with regulated testing standards, including how to complete secure, compliant collections for safety-sensitive positions. Employers rely on properly trained collectors to avoid violations and protect the validity of test results.

Will I receive proof of completion or certification?

Yes. Participants who successfully complete the course and required mock demonstrations receive documentation of completion/certification. This recognition can be used to show employers and clients that you are trained in proper specimen collection procedures.
