- Diabetes: Poorly managed diabetes with often low blood sugar or complications like neuropathy or vision issues.
- Sleep Apnea & Respiratory Issues: Untreated sleep apnea causing drowsiness or serious lung diseases affecting oxygen levels.
- Neurological Disorders: Seizure conditions or illnesses causing sudden unconsciousness, dizziness, or difficult-to-control tremors.
- Substance Abuse: Current illegal drug use, alcohol reliance, or misuse of medications affecting driving.
- Psychiatric & Cognitive Disorders: Severe, unmanaged mental disorders or cognitive challenges impacting judgment.
Some issues might temporarily disqualify you until medically cleared, while others, like untreated seizures, are usually permanently disqualifying under FMCSA guidelines.
