During this phase, drugs are isolated from hair at a minimal concentration compared to other methods (such as urine or oral fluid), which is why hair drug testing is notably complex.
Confirming any positive result from screening is performed using GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, or LC/MS/MS. All presumptive positive samples are cleansed before confirmation as needed. The entire lab process from Accessioning to Confirmation adheres to the CAP (College of American Pathologists) Hair designation and conforms to ISO / IEC 17025 standards.
