Hair analysis is recognized as a robust method for identifying drug and alcohol consumption. Hair retains long-term records of substance use by capturing biomarkers within the strands. Process Overview
Conducting a laboratory drug test involves four principal steps: Accessioning, Screening, Extraction, and Confirmation.
Accessioning refers to the initial integration of a sample into a laboratory’s infrastructure. Confirmation of any positive screening result is executed using GC/MS, GC/MS/MS, or LC/MS/MS. All preliminary positive samples undergo washing before confirmation as necessary. The entire process from Accessioning to Confirmation is scrutinized under CAP (College of American Pathologists) Hair designation and the accreditation to ISO / IEC 17025 standards.
